So last week I mentioned in my post Six Things You May Be Doing That is Interfering With Your Productivity that I would be spending a week focusing on each of the things that were interfering with my productivity. Number one on that list was hitting the snooze button each morning.
I have been wanting to create a morning routine for a while now. Each Sunday I tell myself that this will be the week that I get up early and get a better start to my day. But I always make excuses.
So another week has gone by and no morning routine has been created. So I started to think about why I can’t seem to get started on a morning routine….and it hit me like a ton of bricks.
I can’t get a morning routine started because I haven’t created a plan for one.
Any goal without a plan is just a wish (I am sure someone famous has said this) Yup. Just looked it up ‘A goal without a plan is just a wish’ -― Antoine de Saint-Exupéry.
All this time I have been just wishing for a morning routine but haven’t gone through the planning stages of figuring out what I want my morning routine to look like. So I googled creating a morning routine and found this awesome blog post How To Create A Morning Routine This post by the Morning Motivated Mom is awesome!!! I know I am not a mom but this post I believe can apply to anyone.
She has written a how-to on create a morning routine and even has printables you can sign up for (which I did)
So I failed this week. But hey it happens. I am not giving up. I am just adjusting my method and I will be back next week to let you all know how it goes.
Let me know if you have any tips or tricks for me creating my morning routine, or if you are struggling with the making a morning routine check out the blog post I mentioned and let me know if you think it will help you. We are in this together 🙂
